Pediatric Research Physical Therapist*
Frazier Rehab Institute in Louisville, KY, part of UofL Health, the largest and most comprehensive health system in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking Physical Therapist to join the Pediatric NeuroRecovery Translational Program team. The Pediatric NeuroRecovery Program, www.victoryoverparalysis.org/pediatrics-about-us/, is an innovative and evidence-based outpatient program providing activity-based therapies for children, ages 7 months-21 years, with spinal cord injury and other neurologic disorders resulting in movement dysfunction. We recently moved from ‘make-shift space’ to a ‘made for us’ designed facility he Pediatric NeuroRecovery program is now one consolidated, cohesive, purpose-built environment with a space (approximately 14,000 square feet) designed to support a wide range of therapies for children and adolescents with spinal cord injuries, giving staff, patients, and families the space they need on this journey. It is a kids’ space at heart, but it belongs as much to the parents, who settle into quiet rooms to work remotely, and to the staff, who finally have a dedicated place for every practical need. The space supports complex care without sacrificing comfort. Therapists and researchers now share one roof supporting an integrated clinical and research program.
The Pediatric NeuroRecovery Program also leads and facilitates a network of 6 pediatric rehabilitation facilities (4 U.S. based with sites in Australia and England) sharing a common mission to promote recovery and improve the health and overall quality of life for children living with paralysis. The Pediatric NeuroRecovery Program at Frazier Rehab Institute serves as its inaugural pediatric site.
In addition to the outpatient clinical program, a research program through the University of Louisville, Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Research Center focuses on research related to neurophysiological assessments, motor performance, and therapeutic, activity-based interventions in children with spinal cord injury and other neurologic disorders. Research is conducted in a state-of-the-art laboratory called Discovery that is designed appropriately to respond to the unique needs of children.
The Pediatric Physical Therapist should possess an entry-level degree with PT licensure in the state of Kentucky (or eligibility). Experience with pediatric patients and their families via internships or pediatric residency or prior employment in a pediatric setting is preferred. The ideal candidate will be a critical thinker, excellent team member, good communicator, and situational leader. Being curious is an asset to this position. This is a fulltime position requiring a 75% FTE to clinic and 25% FTE to research. Staff begin with full-time clinic appointments and progress to engagement in research with support of the research staff and research investigators.
Essential functions for this position include providing activity-based therapies for children ages 7 months to21 years, conducting evaluations, completing documentation, supervising Activity-based Techs during therapy and evaluations, consulting with families, engaging in research, and sharing clinic-based and research results through publications and presentations.

Requirements
1. Current Physical Therapist license in the Commonwealth of Kentucky required (or eligible).
2. Bachelors, Master's Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy.
3. BLS/CPR Certification (American Heart Association) required.
4. One year related experience desirable (new graduates are welcome to apply).
